Description

The level of detail needed is determined by the needs for the Migration Design. These were agreed upon in the Focus And Direction Phase.

The Glossary is used to facilitate communication among participants and stakeholders during the engagement. If there is an existing Information Model, and it is validated in task: 2.4.1, then the Glossary can be derived from this Existing Information Model after validation. Otherwise the Business Information should be identified in task: 2.4.2 - Identify Business Information.

The mapping of the use of information is done at the high level As-Is business processes. The goal is to get insight in which data is shared by business processes in order to be able to group them. The grouping of the processes helps in a later activity to map the processes on the application. The usage of information for the high level business processes can be expressed in a CRUD Matrix. CRUD is an acronym and framework to plot responsibilities and stands for Create, Read, Update or Delete in relation to information. The focus is also on data ownership. Requirements regarding Information Usage are recognized, collected and documented only if they were not already captures in the Business Requirements Catalogue. This would be the Business requirements Catalogue of the customer and is part of the Consolidated and Validated Intake Report. .
